ThaiBev Recycle Donates 2 Tons of Plastic Waste to Support PETWood School Desk Project

PETWood would like to express our sincere gratitude to Thai Beverage Recycle Co., Ltd. (ThaiBev Recycle) for their generous donation of 2 tons of recycled plastic materials in support of the PETWood School Desk Project.

The donated plastics will be transformed into eco-friendly school desks made from PETWood composite panels — durable, waterproof, and designed to last more than three times longer than standard particle boards. Each desk represents not just recycled material, but a new opportunity for education and community development.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision between PETWood and ThaiBev Recycle to promote sustainable plastic management, reduce waste to landfill, and support Thailand’s circular economy goals.
The furniture produced will be donated to local schools and child development centers, helping students learn in a cleaner, greener environment while showcasing the power of innovation and social responsibility.

“We deeply appreciate ThaiBev Recycle’s trust and support. Together, we are proving that corporate collaboration can turn waste into real value — for people, for communities, and for the planet,”
said Jakarin Sirikulthorn, Founder of PETWood.

PETWood continues to partner with responsible organizations and communities to create sustainable products with social purpose, reinforcing our mission to transform orphan plastic waste into a force for education, equality, and environmental change.

NIA Joins IPPIN Demo Day by CSIRO — Empowering Plastic-Waste Innovation Toward a Circular Economy

The National Innovation Agency (NIA) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), led by Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of NIA, participated in the Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network (IPPIN) Demo Day – Thailand Chapter, hosted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) of Australia.
Supported by the Mekong–Australia Partnership (MAP), the event aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem for plastic waste management and advance the circular economy across the Indo-Pacific region.

The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Angela Macdonald PSM, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, along with representatives from international environmental and innovation partners.

Dr. Krithpaka delivered the keynote speech on “Building Innovation-driven Circular Economy in Thailand” and served as a jury member for the IPPIN Demo Day competition. Eight startup teams showcased their innovative, business-ready solutions tackling plastic waste while generating measurable environmental and social impact.

  • PETWood Conducts GEDSI Community Survey to Strengthen Inclusive Waste Management Planning

PETWood Conducts GEDSI Community Survey to Strengthen Inclusive Waste Management Planning

As part of PETWood’s ongoing commitment to Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), the team recently conducted a community survey in the Onnut 14 Rai area to better understand the challenges, roles, and opportunities of local waste workers—particularly women, youth, and elderly recyclers.

    The survey aimed to identify:

    • Existing barriers to participation in waste collection and recycling
    • Economic and social challenges faced by marginalized groups
    • Opportunities to enhance safety, training, and fair income generation

Over 50 community members participated, sharing their experiences and ideas for improving the recycling system. Early findings revealed that most waste collectors are women over 40 years old, often facing time poverty, health risks, and lack of stable income. Youth participants expressed interest in learning new recycling and upcycling skills, while older participants emphasized the need for safer and better-organized collection spaces.

These insights will guide PETWood’s GEDSI Action Plan, including:

    • Designing an inclusive Recycle Learning Center with accessible facilities
    • Providing skills development programs for women and youth
    • Ensuring fair purchasing prices for orphan plastics
    • Creating a safer, more organized working environment for all

“Listening to the community is our first step toward sustainable impact. GEDSI isn’t just a policy—it’s about giving everyone a voice in Thailand’s circular future,”
said Jakarin Sirikulthorn, Founder of PETWood.

The GEDSI survey marks an important milestone in PETWood’s mission to turn plastic waste into opportunity—empowering communities, promoting equality, and advancing the circular economy in Thailand.
